In the final declaration of the annual council meeting, the Socialist International called on all states of the world to recognize Palestine immediately and unconditionally.
The final declaration of the Socialist International annual council meeting, which was held for the first time in the occupied Palestinian territories, hosted by the Palestinian National Liberation Movement, Fatah, has been published.
The declaration emphasized the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state within the scope of the two-state solution, and solving the Palestinian refugee problem within the framework of international law.
"CONTRACT OF THE CENTURY"
In the declaration, which was expected to be announced by the USA in the near future for a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, known as the "Deal of the Century", the declaration called on all states of the world to recognize Palestine immediately and unconditionally.
While rejecting Israel's practices on the 1967 borders and plans to change the demographic and natural structure of the occupied Palestinian territories, the declaration called on the international community to take "concrete" measures against Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
The declaration also rejected the US's pro-Israeli attitudes towards the Palestinian cause, and noted that the "Deal of the Century" plan aims to provide legitimacy for Israel's illegal practices on the occupied Arab-Palestinian lands, ignores international law and is far from a just and permanent solution.
CALL ON ISRAEL TO REMOVE THE GAZA BLOCKAGE
Finally, the declaration demanded that Israel lift the blockade it has imposed on the Gaza Strip for 13 years, release the Palestinian detainees in prisons, and end its policy of demolition of Palestinian homes.
The Socialist International held its annual council meeting on July 30 in Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, for the first time, hosted by the Fatah Movement, with the participation of 100 party representatives from 25 countries.
